Great Grates
Just letting people know that these grates are actually 14 7/8" by 11 1/8" each. The dimensions listed in the specifications are actually the size of the box.
Better than the "stock" grate. But pricey
I'm no expert on grills or grates. But I love my grilled chicken thighs and my grilled Porterhouse steaks.
And even to a simpleton like me, it's obvious that this grate is better than the one that came with the grill. And I thought *that* one was pretty good.
And it was "pretty good". This one is better.
The "original equipment" grate was some kind of pressed or stamped metal. A reasonably thick sheet of iron had been stamped into a form. And it worked reasonably well. For six or seven years. Until it rusted away.
And the "original equipment" grate did an OK job. It even left a "grilling mark" ... maybe two. Maybe three. I remember seeing at least that many. They were hard to see. But they were there.
But this grate is a solid piece of steel. It's easily three times the weight. And, that's a good thing. When I pre-heat this grate, it sucks up the heat ... and sucks it up ... and it sucks it up. And when I lay a piece of meat on...
Best Grill by far for 2 burner Weber
BEWARE!! The picture on Amazon is not the actual product picture. These are the best grill by far for any Weber 2 burner Grill (Spirit 500, Genesis Silver A etc..). Waaaaay better than the porcelain coated grill and even MUCH better than the Stainless Grill. Mind you, you do have to read the instructions and take care of the grill by seasoning it regularly. If you season it properly you will never get rust and food won't stick.
